Manx cyclist Peter Kennaugh is to leave Team Sky at the end of this year.
The two-time British National Road Race Champion will bring an end to his seven-year association with the British outfit when his contract expires at the conclusion of the 2017 season.
The Manxman, who played a key role in two of Chris Froome’s Tour de France successes, will then join up with German team BORA - hansgrohe on a two-year deal from 2018 where Kennaugh will team up with reigning UCI World Road Race Champion Peter Sagan.
Speaking about the move, Kennaugh commented: ’I am very excited to sign for BORA - hansgrohe. It is a great opportunity for me to begin a new chapter in my career with a team of huge potential.
’Finally, I would like to express my gratitude to all the riders and staff that I have worked with during my time at Team Sky.’
